SFL Friday -- Carolyn Zegeer Needs You!

Sure there's a lot going on in the world right now, and many causes are desperately important, requiring us to act directly to protect vital personal and national interests, assist others, and perhaps even help save the world.

But I think we can all agree there are few causes more significant to the South Florida legal community than ensuring that Miami attorney Carolyn Zegeer is voted the next Paradise Hunter, whatever the hail that is:
Carolyn Zegeer, Television Host, Model, Writer, Producer and Attorney is votes away from achieving the next milestone in her career . . . Paradise Hunter.  Carolyn is best known for her chameleon-like brand where she blends developing a travel show, hosting television segments and modeling, with the practice of law.  But, the driving force behind this legally blonde powerhouse is her commitment toward giving back through charities and international education.

Carolyn Z, a Miami-native, has already lived in four countries, travelled to more than 20 others and is tri-lingual.  Born from a multi-cultural family with a Puerto Rican mother and Lebanese father, Carolyn grew up learning how culture forms character.  After graduating from Law School and working as an attorney in New York, London and Miami, Carolyn decided to pursue her ultimate goal: creating a travel show which educates viewers on what it is like to live in other countries.  Then came the Paradise Hunter opportunity.

Working for Paradise
Carolyn heard about the Paradise Hunter TV Host Search only a few days before the last day of eligibility.  In that amount of time she had to script, scout locations, film, edit, add music, and upload an audition video before the deadline.  While that was difficult enough, the fact that she wanted her video to include a courthouse, ocean and private airplane only made the challenge more formidable.  In typical Carolyn Z-style, not only did she put together one of the best videos of the 700 applicants, it was also viewed 20,000 times in just two weeks.

Carolyn Z entered the competition in last place.  While other contestants had been on the Paradise Hunter website for more than 45 days, she worked her way up from 696th to 29th place in one week’s time.  Then it was up to the Paradise Hunter team to select her.  And they did.  Now Carolyn is a top 40 semi-finalist and, in the ten days, managed to secure the #1 spot, receiving an astonishing 20,000 votes from around the world!  Her video has been shared thousands of times on Facebook and Carolyn Z is quickly becoming a social media sensation.

Hunting for Paradise
A self-described adventure junkie who is as comfortable jumping out of an airplane as she is in a courtroom, Carolyn doesn’t take herself too seriously.  She always says, “Life is about the journey, not the destination,” something she learned at a young age.  “I was 19 when I moved abroad for the first time and the experience was transformational.  I understood the power of living in other countries and how much that invites you to grow.  The Paradise Hunter brand does just that.  They offer opportunities to own or rent property anywhere in the world so that people can discover their paradise.  I believe in what that does for people and how important it is in transforming people’s lives.  In fact, I think immersive travel is an important step toward international acceptance and peace.”

When asked how being the Paradise Hunter factors into her plans, Carolyn said, “When I heard about the Paradise Hunter opportunity, I was actually working on developing an idea for an international travel show with a charitable spin.  I even have a tag line, ‘Don’t just visit, move in;’ the idea being that in order to fully understand another culture, you need to live in that region, connect with its people and become familiar with how they live.  The objective is to not only entertain viewers, but it’s a chance to make a difference in people’s lives.”

“That is exactly why I want to be the next Paradise Hunter.  It aligns perfectly with my vision to understand other cultures through travel and it provides a platform to share that education with thousands of viewers.  When I learned what the Paradise Hunter brand represents and about the vision of their CEO, Dennis Kambeitz, it was clear that this opportunity was a dream come true.  The whole point of hunting for Paradise is to enrich people’s lives and hopefully inspire them to be greater.”  It seems as though some heavyweight Hollywood types agree.  After seeing Carolyn’s video, Kevin Elson (legendary producer of Journey “Escape,” “Don’t Stop Believin’” and two Michael Jackson tours) said, “Carolyn is amazing and her video literally blew me away.  She’s a charismatic beauty that lights up the screen.”  Other luminaries such as Steven Tyler, Bernie Yuman, Mark Hudson, and Joanne Horowitz (Kevin Spacey’s manager) have said similar things.

Pursuing her dream job in Paradise means taking a salary cut
No risk, no reward is Carolyn’s motto.  The Paradise hunter job pays less than she could make as an attorney, but that doesn’t matter to Carolyn, even in this tough economy.  “This opportunity to become the Parade Hunter is bigger than how much money I can make.  It’s about realizing a dream, exploring the world one region at a time and giving back.  That’s invaluable to me.”

“I discovered I really enjoy hosting television segments.  I’ve been doing it in Miami for some great clients including The Beach Channel TV, DirecTV, M Network and R&R Network.  TV hosting is a great creative outlet and I’m always pushing myself to new heights, learning new things everyday and growing as a person.  The support that I’ve received to become the next Paradise Hunter has been overwhelming:  almost 20,000 votes from dozens of different countries and more than 20,000 YouTube views in a couple of weeks.  Thousands of people from all over the world have supported this dream.  Any one of those accomplishments is a dream come true, yet I know that this is only the beginning.  I was born to be the Paradise Hunter.”
