Welcome to My New "Pop-Up" Restaurant!

It suddenly occurred to me -- much like my fledgling entry into the food truck craze -- that I should immediately open up a "pop-up" restaurant.

Here are the broad contours of my concept:

1.  Hip hop music will be banned.

2.  I plan to only serve food from Wisconsin.

(So I guess it's a pop-up lutefisk 'n cheese shop?)

3.  It will be located right next to my food truck.

Wish me luck kids, but then again -- how could it go wrong?

In other news, the talented Mr. and Mrs. Markus whooped it up on eighty-seven (or eight, but who's counting?) fed lawyers and scored a big win on behalf of his client before Magistrate Judge Torres.

Other than continually referring to himself in the plural ("our findings," "we" etc. -- it's ok, I do it too) it's a thorough and well-reasoned R&R.

Finally, we offer congrats (see?) to the Most Effective Lawyers in town -- if you did not win, that means you have a chance to be more effective next year -- that's what New Year's resolutions are all about.

Hi kids, well that was actually a pretty interesting football game.

And by that I mean the massive "Tron" halftime reenactment, the 2008 nostalgia (Usher?), that creative version of the national anthem, and the emasculating moment when Cameron Diaz hand fed popcorn to A-Rod during America's biggest and most-watched sporting event.

That, plus Richard Lewis!

Good times.

Speaking of good times, I see that one of the DBR's "Most Effective Lawyer" nominees, Ed Davis, gets the love in a profile of the decades-long case that brought Ed right to the precipice of the promised land -- just like Moses and/or the Steelers.

Oh well, there's always next year.

I wanted to make sure everybody marked their calendars for January 9, when there will be a unique jazz event in honor of Steve Chaykin and his fellowship at UM:

On Saturday evening, January 9, 2010, a Reception and Concert by Grammy Nominated Jazz and Blues Artist Marcia Ball, will be held at the Gusman Concert Hall, on the University of Miami Campus. All the proceeds will benefit the Steven E. Chaykin Fellowship at the Center for Ethics and Public Service, at the University of Miami School of Law.

I've got a few things on my plate for this weekend -- a quick trip to Lake Worth, a long overdue pedicure, and trying to understand the appeal of a certain look.



It's all part of what makes life so mysterious, so weird, so challenging, so grand.
