MDLs are fun.
They keep lawyers busy, usually there are interesting and sophisticated legal issues, and the judge often takes interest in and sometimes even ownership of the cases.
I see Judge Graham has certified a class in the marine hose antitrust cases in a thoughtful, well-reasoned order.
Some of the defendants have also settled, though the Manuli defendants -- represented by Alan Greer and a team from Sullivan & Cromwell -- appear to be big losers here.
That's what happens sometimes when the parties can't or won't negotiate a reasonable resolution.
Now comes the 23(f) for the Sullivan boys -- YAY MORE BILLING!
